The Utsha Library Project aims to build a library on art and culture to enable people to use it as a resource that is available for free. For a city like Bhubaneswar, where there is no such institution, a library for common people that is open to all will be a precursor to disseminate otherwise confined institutional knowledge. At present Utsha houses close to a 1000 books, journals , catalogues and magazines on all matters related to art , literature and music to name a few categories. We are also subscribed to leading art journals on contemporary art and culture like Art India, Platform and Eyeline.
To further the Utsha library project an ambitious ‘1000 days 1000 books campaign’ was launched on Republic Day , January 26 , 2017 , in order to give gracious donors an opportunity to lend us valuable books on art and artists. So that everyone in this city can, artist and art admirer alike, can enjoy these books in the peace and tranquility of Utsha ! The clock is still ticking towards October 23 , 2019 ( 1000th day) and the books still keep pouring in.
The Utsha Foundation aims to be an easily accessible archive of knowledge that is able to foster debate and dialogue.Every single art related book or magazine donated will be an invaluable contribution to the success of the foundation and every single donor will also be mentioned and acknowledged in a donor list.
