Himanshu Desai

Himanshu Desai is a musician, artist, writer, curator, media producer with tremendous international experience. He works with various media and materials including - painting, installation, graphics, video, animation, music and sound design. He has two Master Degrees in Arts and Humanities - in 2008 from The Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, UK; and in 1995 from The Faculty of Fine Arts in Vadodara, India . His solo exhibitions include Stories of The Mountain Man - The Courtyard Gallery, Mumbai (2004) and Art at Random - Solo Exhibition of Paintings, Random Access Cafe, Ahmedabad. His curatorial work includes Three Yards of Dogma, Asma Mahmood Solo Exhibition, Toronto, Canada (2010) and Subtlety, Where Art Thou?, Nilesh Palav and Manish Mistry, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2004). He has several publications to his credit including New Presence- Indian Contemporary Art- 'Larasati, Pictures of Asia' Fine Art Auction, Singapore and The Irresistible Urge to Experiment, Shanti Dave, Art India Magazine. 
He is currently the Programme Director, SARA Centre, Sustainable Alternatives for Rural Accord, Dombekoppa, Shimoga, Karnataka, India
